Regular Faculty
I am an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science Department at New Mexico State University since Fall 2023. Before that, I was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Alberta, where I worked under the guidance of Matthew Taylor at The Intelligent Robot Learning Laboratory. I completed my Ph.D. at Washington University in St. Louis in the Computer Science and Engineering Department under the mentorship of William Yeoh. I obtained an M.S degree in Computer Science from New Mexico State University and a B.S. in Electronics Engineering from Universidad Mayor de San Andres.
The objective of my research lies in studying the influence of human-agent-environment interaction and understanding how this interaction can benefit both humans and AI agents. To achieve my objective, I study intelligent tutor systems supported by reinforcement learning and goal recognition to optimize agents’ intervention or environment modification to help people thrive in different settings.
