Dr. Enrico Pontelli is Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at New Mexico State University and Director of the Institute for Applied Practice in AI and Machine Learning (IAAM). A distinguished computer scientist with expertise in knowledge representation, artificial intelligence, and parallel computing, Dr. Pontelli has led NMSU’s AI strategy and is the driving force behind the Institute’s founding and growth. Under his leadership, IAAM is building New Mexico’s premier collaborative AI hub — connecting researchers, educators, and partners to advance applied AI across the state.
