Huidae Cho is an associate professor of civil engineering and leads the Computational Lab for Advanced Water Resources Informatics and Modeling (CLAWRIM) at New Mexico State University. His research integrates artificial intelligence with hydrologic modeling, focusing on deep learning for flood inundation modeling, hybrid models for dam operation simulations, groundwater level prediction with machine learning, Convolutional LSTM-based snow water equivalent prediction, data-driven streamflow forecasting, and machine-learnig-based canopy classification. He co-developed and teaches an AI-driven module “Flood Inundation Modeling Using Machine Learning for Sustainable vs. Resilient Design” (Cho et al., 2024). Cho is also involved in open-source development and NSF-funded initiatives to enhance research infrastructure for computational water resources.
