My research includes use of various machine learning methods for statistical and data analytics focused on water science, environmental science, and geophysics. I have a PhD student graduating who worked on this for his degree (minor in Computer Science), and I have 2 postdocs working on machine learning applications. Below are recent journal publications:

Zhan, C., Z. Dai, J.J. Jiao, M.R. Soltanian, H. Yin, K.C. Carroll (2025) Towards Artificial General Intelligence in Hydrogeological Modeling with an Integrated Latent Diffusion Framework. Geophysical Research Letters, 52(3), e2024GL114298. https://doi.org/10.1029/2024GL114298.
